A few years ago (back in February) our colleagues at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute asked us to name a //soccom.princeton.edu/ float that was about to be deployed in the Southern Ocean, as part of a float-illa studying the effects of climate change in this critical region.
Introducing: Floaty McFloatface!
Floaty has already been deployed and is currently recording crucial oceanographic data. Here’s what Floaty and the rest of the float-illa will be getting up to for the next few years:
We’re so thankful for the opportunity to bring Floaty McFloatface’s buoyant personality into this new cohort! It’s not a competition, but we’re certain Floaty is aiming to be the F.L.O.A.T (Floaty-est Of All Time)!
