Our volunteers have always been at the heart of the Aquarium’s work, donating their time and passions to inspire conservation of the ocean. Although we’re currently closed, their drive has not stopped—they’ve jumped right into the deep end with us to help wherever they can! Volunteers with sewing skills pledged to make masks for staff still working onsite—and so far they’ve made 1,368 masks!
Jon Hoech, Vice President of Animal Care, summed it up perfectly:
“Your handcrafted facial masks are a true mark of your care and support. Much needed, fashionable and an iconic symbol of this most remarkable passage in time. Thank you so much for your contribution to keeping the spread at bay, and for your ongoing support that continues forever to leave such an amazing signature on the face of this remarkable organization.”
