Here’s your Mola mola Monday Motivoceanal Moment!
It’s MolaLa Land in the Monterey Bay currently, as ocean sunfish (Mola mola) arrive en masse to feast on abundant jellies. This weekend’s stellar underwater conditions treated divers to several sunfish sightings, including this majestic mola spotted Sunday off of Pacific Grove.
This mighty sunfish, approximately 5ft / 1.5m in diameter, was enjoying a spa day to have its pesky parasites pecked at a cleaning station filled with señorita wrasses. Nothing like a sunfish getting a spit-shine on a pit stop along its journey through the open ocean!
