What a sight for compound eyes! Kelp isopods (Pentidotea wosnesenskii) are gloriously golden camouflaged critters that spend their days clinging to the kelp fronds and dining on algae (including their kelp home) and snail eggs. Oh–and they’re also dorsoventrally-compressed and related to your garden friend the rolly polly (or pill bug)!
