Hopkins roses (Okenia rosacea) nudibranch sea slugs are brightly blushing due to their equally rosy bryozoan prey Integripelta bilabiata. The color comes from a pigment known as hopkinsiaxanthin, which signals to the world that—no matter how beautiful—this distasteful nudibranch is a rose that has its (icky) thorns. (For scale, this slug is about 1in/3cm long)
