“It’s time to get up already?!” Big yawn from our wolf eel, clearly still adjusting to daylight’s saving time 😫
Found throughout Monterey Bay, but more common further north in colder waters, wolf eels are curious critters with big chompers and powerful jaws used to tackle crunchy snacks like crabs, lobsters and sea urchins. So if you ever feel a shudder ripple through the hard-shelled invertebrate communities of North Pacific nearshore reefs reading this post, it’s likely due to a wolf eel howling at the moon jelly.
