Honk! Honk! Bray! Bray! African penguins are here to stay!
For years, we’ve sent Aquarium staff to South Africa to lend a helping wing to our colleagues at SANCCOB—in fact, staff aviculturist Susan is currently on her way to help care for sick, injured and abandoned African penguins at SANCCOB for release into the wild! Thanks to their hard work and the work of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan, there are plenty of peng-wins to celebrate this African Penguin Day!
