Say waaaaaaaaa? Y’all want a Bixby update?! Let’s do this!
Bixby’s got quite the penguinality says Aviculturist Kim: “She is highly curious but cautious and pretty chill. Wants to investigate new things, but it will take 5-15 minutes to muster up the courage to go see or touch it. Bix likes her food and has some fat rolls right now.”
Bixby is growing up fast. Under the watchful eye of parents Walvis and Boulders and our veterinarian Dr. Mike, she’s beginning to explore the water and is starting to meet the rest of the colony. She’s actually hanging out with fellow chicks Monty and Poppy today!
It’s the Bixby Bridge! 😂
We’ll let you know when lil’ Bix is ready to meet all of you in the Penguin Exhibit. She’s part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan to help the critically endangered African penguin in the wild. Thank you for your support!
